Initiating Research at Carle
We are pleased you are interested in research at Carle. As Carle continues to move forward in its mission to serve people through high quality care, medical research and education, the Research Office is advancing its commitment to support research investigators in the ethical conduct of cutting edge research. The goals of research at Carle are to:
- advance the latest care and treatment
- enhance disease prevention
- improve staff-provider performance, care delivery and patient outcomes
The Research Institute coordinates studies, specializing in non-cancer clinical trials, translational, physician-initiated, resident, nursing, and student research. Many of our studies are a collaborative effort between University of Illinois scientists and Carle physicians. These collaborations help foster our research culture by developing new research initiatives and constantly asking ourselves, “How can we do this better?” Carle recognizes the value of clinician-scientist partnerships and the impact on our patients and on local community. We continue to work together to develop our four focus areas: Cancer, Cardiology, Neuroscience, and Gastroenterology.
Since each research study is unique, the initial contact with the Research Institute should be made early in the research project design process to assure coordination of efforts and to maximize support in the submission process.
